Full professor of education and head of the School of Education at Bar Ilan University. In the past, she served as vice rector of Bar Ilan University, was the Ministry of Education's chief scientist and served a previous term as head of the School of Education. Her research deals with meta-cognitive methods of teaching and in general, focuses on science and on mathematics, in particular. Prof. Mevarech is the principal investigator and research director for PISA 2000, 2006 in Israel.Prof. Mevarech holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
