Prof. Tamar Ariav
Member, consesus commitiee: Values Education

Bio sketch:
Professor of education and president of Beit Berl College. Prior to her academic career she taught mathematics in Israel and in Germany and taught at Jewish schools in the U.S. She served for two terms as a member of the Council for Higher Education where she also chaired the Committee for Teacher Education Frameworks in Colleges and Universities. Over the last 35 years, she has been a faculty member at Beit Berl College, chaired the forum of presidents of teachers colleges in Israel, and participated in various committees of the Ministry of Education and Mofet Institute.
Her research concerns curriculum development and program evaluation as well as teacher policies, particularly the continuum from preservice, through induction to professional development. 
She holds a BA in economics and statistics and an MA in curriculum planning, both from Tel Aviv University, and a PhD degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
