Prof. Ariel Knafo-Noam

Bio sketch:
Professor of developmental psychology, Department of Psychology, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In his research, he aims to integrate behavioral genetics, approaches of social and personality psychology, and a developmental perspective with the goal of providing a comprehensive picture of personality development among children and adolescents.
His main areas of research interest are development of interpersonal differences in empathy, pro-social behavior and the development of values, the effect of heredity, culture and parenting on child development, and the effect of children on their parents.
He holds a PhD in psychology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, received in 2002; in 2003, he was a post-doctoral fellow in educational psychology at the Department of Education, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev; and, in 2004, he completed another post-doctoral fellowship in behavioral genetics at the Social, Genetic, and Developmental Psychiatry Centre at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College, London.
