President (Emeritus) the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and Professor (Emeritus) of economics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Yaari is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Association, and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the Israel Prize in Economics (1987), the Rothschild Prize in the Social Sciences (1994), and EMET Prize Laureate, 2012.
