Associate professor at the Technion in the Department of Education in Science and Technology; she heads the environment and informal science education group and serves as the chair of the ecological garden's "green campus." She did her post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan. Prof. Tal is an associate editor of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching, a member of the board of the Israeli Society of Ecology and Environmental Sciences and a member of the board of directors of the Society for Nature Protection. Her areas of research interests include meaningful learning in school and in informal settings (museum, nature), science education for everyone and environmental education.

Prof. Tal holds a D.Sc. degree from the Technion, received in 1998.
