Prof. Avi Sagi-Schwartz

Bio sketch:
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Haifa, director of the Center for the Study of Child Development, and former dean of the graduate school at the University of Haifa. He is involved in international research projects in the area of child development and is the recipient of the Society for Research in Child Development Distinguished Award for International Contributions to the Field Child Development. His main research interests are socio-emotional development across the life span from a multicultural perspective; children's adaptation to conditions of extreme stress; children at-risk and services for children; applying scientific knowledge and findings in the treatment and education of pre-school children; and, public policy, law, and legislation pertaining to children.Prof. Sagi-Schwartz holds a Ph.D. in social work and psychology from the University of Michigan, received in 1976.
